ABSTRACT
During the last two decades from 1970's to 1990's in Korea, considerable progress has made in a knowledge of the siliceous components of the diatoms. This is largely due to the use of LM and SEM. New structures have been found and terms of known structures have been greatly refined. There are no Korean name of diatom terms and they were verified a public and open hearing managed by the Korean Society of Phycology.
Key words: diatom, terms, Korean name
