Notes on Galaxaura (Rhodophyta) from Cheju Island

ABSTRACT

Taxonomic notes are given to three species of Galaxaura (Nemaliales, Rhodophyta); G. rugosa, G. oblongata, and G. hystrix. The plants examined are all gametophytic. Accordingly, the tetrasporangial plants of these species may be expected to occur in Cheju Island. G. fastigiata which has been familiar in Korea is revealed to be conspecific with G. oblongata. G. rugosa and G. hystrix are added newly to the flora of Korea.
